In connection with the escalation of tensions in the Middle East, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) calls on Bulgarian citizens residing in the affected regions and in need of assistance to contact the MFA through the specified communication channels - the Situation Center Directorate and the Bulgarian embassies in Iran and Israel.
It is reported that the airspace of Iran and Israel is closed, and therefore leaving these countries by air is not possible at the moment. Alternative land routes are through Azerbaijan, Turkey, Armenia and Turkmenistan, but the status of land borders has not yet been confirmed by the Iranian authorities.
As for Israel, leaving the country is possible through Egypt (Beit Hanoun/Erez Crossing) or Jordan (King Hussein/Alenby bridge), but a visa and special permission is required. The activity of land border crossing points will be resumed on June 15, 2025 after the end of Shabbat - the Jewish weekly rest.
