The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria, Georg Georgiev, participated in a working dinner of the NATO-Ukraine Council, held during the first day of the NATO Summit in The Hague. The forum was also attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andriy Sybiha, as well as the EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas.
The main focus of the discussion was the need to guarantee Ukraine's security and maintain long-term support from NATO. Minister Georgiev emphasized that this remains a fundamental priority for the Alliance, stating: "Our common goal is a sovereign and independent Ukraine that has the capabilities to deter Russian aggression."
In light of the ongoing military aggression by the Russian Federation, it was underscored that maintaining military, economic, and political assistance to Ukraine will remain critical until a lasting and sustainable peaceful solution to the conflict is found. Ukrainian Minister Andriy Sybiha provided current information on the development of combat operations and Kyiv's current efforts to achieve peace.
