Nicosia Summit: Bulgarian Defense Minister Discusses EU Security

Bulgaria's Minister of Defense Dimitar Stoyanov has arrived in Nicosia, Cyprus, to participate in the informal meeting of defense ministers of European Union member states. The event is taking place in the context of the Cypriot presidency of the Council of the EU.

The forum is a key moment for coordinating defense policies against the backdrop of the changing geopolitical situation.

Main agenda highlights:

• Support for Ukraine: Discussion of current initiatives and mechanisms for military assistance.
• Maritime security: Analysis of freedom of navigation and the role of naval operations within the framework of the Common Security and Defense Policy.

The meeting is held under the leadership of Kaja Kallas, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
