The football community in Colombia is extremely interested in the future of Marcelino Careaso, who recently left the Sofia team. According to the investigation by journalist Guillermo Arango from RCN TV, two leading clubs – America (Cali) and Millonarios (Bogota), have taken active steps to attract the experienced midfielder.

Information channels reveal that Careaso has requested a strategic period to explore his opportunities in the European and American football market. In the absence of a specific offer, the player is ready to return to the domestic league in August, taking advantage of his status as a free agent.

The America (Cali) team is particularly persistent in negotiations, which initially aimed at Juan Cuadrado. After the legendary footballer signed with the newcomer Pisa in Serie A, the Cali club sees Careaso as an extremely promising alternative.

America (Cali)'s current ranking is extremely strong – third place with 52 points and three matches fewer than the top. The team has a direct quota for the group stage of Copa Libertadores, which further increases its attractiveness for the player.

Meanwhile, Millonarios also shows interest, as they are looking for a replacement for Daniel Ruiz, who has an offer from Russian CSKA (Moscow). This fact further complicates the market situation around Careaso.

Let us recall that the footballer arrived in Sofia in May 2022 from Once Caldas for 100 thousand euros. During the three seasons in the Bulgarian capital, he played an impressive 97 matches, scored 11 goals and assisted 10 more.
