Writers from Burgas can enter their books for the city's annual literary awards until 2 November 2026, Burgas council said. The council will present the awards in early December.

The Annual Literary Review is open to books by Burgas authors published between November 2025 and October 2026. Authors must send five copies of each book, wrapped or in an envelope. The sender writes their full name, address, phone number and email on the package.

Books should be sent to Burgas council at 26 Aleksandrovska Street, addressed to the deputy mayor for culture and religious affairs.

The awards follow the current statute. The Hristo Fotev plaque is for poetry, the Petko Rosen award is for prose, and the Pegasus award covers poetry, prose and literary criticism. There is also the national Golden Pegasus for Bulgarian poets, fiction writers and critics. It is given for a body of work, major achievements in literature and a contribution to the standing of Bulgarian culture.

A five-member jury will judge the books. Mayor Dimitar Nikolov appointed it by order. Three of its members are from the Burgas Writers' Community association and two represent the council.

Two jury members who are authors, literary critics or university lecturers will write the reports on poetry and prose. The jury will choose the 2026 winners after all five members discuss the books and give their opinion.

The council says the awards will again bring together the best of the literary output of Burgas authors.
