The dramatic elimination of Levski from the second qualifying round of the Europa League provoked a sharp reaction from the club's management. Daniel Borimiroff categorically stated to the media that refereeing played a decisive role in the elimination of the Bulgarian representative.

During the press conference after the team's return to Sofia, the leader emphasized numerous controversial refereeing decisions that directly influenced the final result. Particularly indicative was the episode in the 12th minute when a Sporting Braga player stopped the ball with his hand in the penalty area, but the referee did not award a penalty in favor of the "blues".

"Our players played a great match, but we were unfairly treated," Borimiroff was categorical. He emphasized that the video review was selective - a quickly canceled Levski goal, but without examining controversial situations in favor of the Bulgarian team.

The leader also highlighted another significant problem - uneven additional time awarding. While the first extension was 3-4 minutes, at the end of the match, when Levski was exerting serious pressure, the referee added only one minute.

Despite the disappointment, Borimiroff expressed hope for fans to support the team in the upcoming match against Slavia. He warned that the upcoming opponent Sabah is a serious challenge that should not be underestimated.

The final result from both matches remained 0:1 in favor of the Portuguese team, which means Levski's elimination from the European club competition.
