Kostadin Filipov: The Poet Who Transforms Emotions into Musical Masterpieces

Kostadin Filipov's creative euphoria knows no boundaries. His artistic universe continues to expand at an unstoppable pace, with the latest proof being his impressive three awards from the 42nd edition of the National Song Contest "Burgas and the Sea".

Among his most significant achievements this year is the jury's first prize for the song "After Love", performed by Georgi Dyulgerov. Additionally, his works received additional recognition - the song "How Long" performed by Victoria Kamencheva won a special award from Sofia University, and the statuette for young performer was presented by the "Charity and Mercy" foundation.

Filipov reveals his deep emotional connection with Burgas, which is not just a geographical concept, but the focal point of his inspiration. "The sea is a powerful place that provides emotional stability to the creator," he shares in an interview with BTA. This city holds the memory of his first love and continues to be an inexhaustible source of creative impulses.

Parallel to his musical performances, Kostadin Filipov is expanding his professional profile. From the second term of 2024, he works as a literature teacher, where he introduces innovative teaching methods. His impressive project is the introduction of hourly poetry reading, which gradually provokes students to create their own poetry.

An interesting fact is that besides being a lyricist, Filipov is also beginning to venture into composition. His nine-year experience as an oboist and participation in musical plein airs since childhood prepare the ground for this new creative direction. "I've been experimenting with composition for half a year," he shares, already having several completed works awaiting final processing.

Among his upcoming projects are participation in the International Contest Sofia Song together with Georgi Dyulgerov, the "Golden Apples" festival in Kyustendil, and collaborative work on a summer Latin song dedicated to the sea. Filipov has the ambition for this work to be his first complete musical piece - both in text and music.

His philosophy goes beyond personal creative ambitions. He believes in the development of Bulgarian music and supporting young talents. "We need more beautiful songs in Bulgarian," Filipov states firmly, pointing to groups like "Molets" and performers like Filip Donkov as positive examples of the contemporary native music scene.

The multi-talented artist combines teaching, television hosting, poetry, and music with an ease bordering on art. "In the morning I'm with the children at school, in the afternoon - on television, and in the evening I think in texts and music," he reveals his daily routine, which is a true embodiment of creativity.

Inspiration for Kostadin Filipov does not come through special rituals, but happens spontaneously - from a smile, a small gesture, or a message sent with love. His creative essence is open to the world, ready to capture even the finest emotional nuance and transform it into art.
