The fourth Strandzha folk song contest, "With the Songs of Toma Yanchev", is being held in the village of Rosen, at the "Angel Velichkov-1902" chitalishte (community cultural centre). Some 65 people from across Bulgaria are taking part.
They are singers and folklore fans from Burgas, Varna, Sredets, Kazanlak, Karnobat, Yambol and Bolyarovo, as well as from several villages in the region.
The organisers say they want to keep Strandzha traditions alive and pass them on to younger generations.
Prizes will be handed out at 6pm at the chitalishte. A music programme starts at 6:30pm, and the village celebration goes on.
