Kia EV4: 120,000 km in Extreme Conditions Prove Durability

The South Korean car manufacturer Kia has revealed details from the extremely rigorous testing program that its new all-electric model, the Kia EV4, was subjected to. The results from the extensive tests, conducted on both European roads and the legendary "Nürburgring" racetrack, are a clear testament to the electric vehicle's reliability and durability. According to the company, the tests were performed to ensure maximum safety and long-term efficiency for future owners.

Extreme Tests and Impressive Results

The program included an impressive 110,000 kilometers of mileage on public roads in Europe, as well as 10,000 kilometers on the "Nürburgring" racetrack. On the track, the vehicle was pushed to the absolute limits of its capabilities, operating between 90% and 95% of its maximum potential. In addition, engineers subjected the battery to multiple cycles of ultra-fast charging at maximum power, with the aim of simulating the most extreme operating conditions possible.

Despite the immense load and harsh conditions, the results are more than impressive. The Kia EV4 showed minimal wear and tear and maintained stable efficiency and consistent battery performance throughout the entire test marathon.

According to Stefan Hoferer, Head of Durability Development at Hyundai Motor Europe Technical Center, the tests were necessary to confirm their "confidence that we are providing our customers with a maximally reliable electric vehicle for everyday use". Hoferer emphasized that the tests covered a wide range of conditions - "from icy roads to the racetrack", with the goal of proving that the Kia EV4 can far exceed the daily needs of its owners.

Long-Lasting Battery and Efficient Recuperation

Upon completion of the testing program, engineers measured the state of the battery cells using the SoH (State of Health) indicator. The result was an impressive 95%. This is considered a strong testament to the battery's long-term reliability.

In addition to battery durability, the EV4 model also demonstrated the advantages of its energy recuperation system. This technology harnesses excess energy generated during deceleration and braking, recovering up to 25% of it. This not only improves overall efficiency but also reduces the strain on the battery cells. Thanks to its robust construction and intelligent energy management systems, Kia guarantees that the battery will retain a minimum of 70% of its original capacity after 160,000 kilometers of mileage or after eight years of regular use.

The new EV4 electric model, which will be available in sedan and hatchback versions, as well as the sportier EV4 GT-Line version, seems ready to offer consumers peace of mind and confidence regarding the long-term operation and ownership of an all-electric car.
