Solemn celebration of St. George's Day in Burgas
On St. George's Day, Burgas bowed to the memory of Bulgarian soldiers. With a solemn ritual of laying wreaths and flowers at the Monument to the 24th Black Sea Infantry Regiment, citizens and officials paid tribute to the heroism and self-sacrifice of the heroes.
"Gratitude to those who gave their lives for the freedom and honor of Bulgaria," the attendees stated.
The ceremony was attended by:
- Mayor Dimitar Nikolov and representatives of the municipal administration;
- Regional Governor Dobromir Gyulev;
- Representatives of state institutions and the Ministry of Interior;
- Veterans and reserve officers.
Festive folklore program
The holiday continues with a rich cultural program for residents and guests of the city. From 12:30 PM at Atanas Sirekov Square, a concert by the Professional Folklore Ensemble "Dobrudzha" will take place. Traditional songs, dances, and horos will immerse the audience in the magic of Bulgarian folklore.

06.05.2026, 12:53абе, да не се връзвам много... гергьовден си е гергьовден, разбирам. хубаво, че правят празник в бургас, ама наистина ли трябваше всяка една новина да я обявиш като "тържествен ритуал и фолклорен празник"? к'во толкова? хора ще се съберат, ще пеят песни, пастирска вечеря ще има, майтап.

Явно някой в пресцентъра се е постарал много да звучи официално… ама то к'во, все едно сме на държавна церемония ли?
