Europe has presented its version of a peace plan for Ukraine, making adjustments to the US proposals. According to European sources cited by Reuters, the Ukrainian army should be limited to 800,000 regular personnel, which is more than the 600,000 proposed by Washington.
A significant difference also lies in the approach to territorial negotiations. The European plan envisions the negotiations starting from the current front line, unlike the American plan, which focuses on pre-determined territories.
A key element in the European proposal is security guarantees. Kyiv should receive the same protection provided by Article 5 of the NATO Charter, without becoming an official member of the alliance.

Another significant difference is related to the financing of Ukraine's reconstruction. European forces do not support the idea of using frozen Russian assets on EU territory, as the American plan envisions. The American plan envisages 50% of the reconstruction revenues being appropriated by the United States.
