Employees of the Cybercrime Directorate at the General Directorate of the National Police are working on signals of withdrawn funds from bank cards as a result of a phishing campaign that is being distributed in the form of emails in the name of the National Health Insurance Fund. Cyber experts warn users to be cautious when providing personal data and banking information.

In the last few days, the employees of the Cybercrime Department at the General Directorate for Combating Organized Crime (GDBOP) are checking several signals for withdrawn funds from bank cards after filling in data in response to a phishing message, distributed in the form of an email on behalf of the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF). The attack is targeted at insured persons and calls on them to request a refund of overpaid health insurance contributions due to a "calculation error", urging them to fill in personal and banking data.

The document distributed through the phishing campaign contains the official distinctive marks of the NHIF, creating an impression of authenticity. Cyber experts warn online users not to respond to such emails, not to open the links and files attached to them, and to be extremely cautious when providing personal data or banking information.
