With an emotional poetic performance titled "Less is More", Diana Savateva presented her new poetry collection "Three-Leaf Clover" to a diverse audience in Burgas. The event, held in the courtyard of the "Flora" Exhibition Center, was part of the "With a Book on the Beach" festival and attracted many well-known figures from the city's cultural and business circles.
The performance, which combined elements of poetry, music, and performance art, was enriched by an unexpected surprise. Popular Burgas performer Veniamin, who was supposed to give a concert elsewhere in the Sea Garden, appeared to present Savateva with an impressive bouquet.
The poetry evening, organized in collaboration with BNR - Burgas, is part of a series of events supporting Burgas' candidacy for European Capital of Culture. The focus of the event was on short lyrical forms, presenting them as a specific subgenre and paying tribute to the previous generation of artists.
BNR journalist Petya Yanakieva hosted the event, creating an atmosphere of an improvised radio studio. The book's editor Aksinia Mihaylova, poet Kerana Angelova, and publisher Rumyana Emanuilidue, who shared information about the upcoming anniversary of "Znatsi" publishing house, were guests. Among the guests were also translator Christopher Buxton and English text editor Zlatka Kostova.
The audience had the opportunity to enjoy a short poetic performance, which clearly reflected the directorial style of Rumen Velev and the choreographic vision of Petya Stoykova on the plastic improvisations. The two accepted the challenge to be reciters as well, along with Gergana Chakarova, Detelina Mineva (book designer), Gocho Gochev, and Danko Mitsev.
"Three-Leaf Clover" is a collection of short lyrical forms that the author defines as nava, visions, and anxieties. The book is divided into three parts, inspired by poets Ivan Metodiev, Nikolay Iskarov, and Fernando Pessoa. The cover and illustrations are the work of Kapka Kaneva, a teacher at the National Academy of Arts, and the book is printed by "Faber" publishing house.
At the end of the evening, young authors from Dobrina Topalova's club "For Flying People" presented their works. They will also have a premiere of a collection of short lyrical forms on August 15, at 11 AM, on the stage of the "With a Book on the Beach" festival.
Diana Savateva is an established author with several poetry books behind her, including "Memory of Happiness" (2009), "The City - Love Map" (2012), and "A Drop Ahead of Rain" (2022). Besides being a poet, she is also a publicist and public figure who successfully combines cultural activity with civic engagement. After a long career as a journalist and editor at "24 Hours" newspaper, Savateva currently holds the position of Deputy Mayor for "Culture and Religious Affairs" in Burgas Municipality.
