Ten Bulgarian players have made the main singles draw of the W50 women's tennis tournament in Burgas. The event carries $40,000 in prize money and is played on the courts of TC Avenue.
Elizara Yaneva is the top seed as Bulgaria's number 1 and faces Romania's Julia Safina Popa in the first round. Rositsa Dencheva is seeded 4th and opens against Poland's Gina Feistel.
On Wednesday, Lidia Encheva takes on Germany's Marie Vogt, while Denislava Glushkova plays Brazil's Carolina Alves. All four players were part of the national team that earlier this year won promotion to Group I of the Billie Jean King Cup world championship.
Galena Krastenova came through qualifying yesterday and faces third seed Anastasia Soboleva of Ukraine in the first round. Lia Karatancheva takes on fifth seed Luisina Giovannini of Argentina.
Iva Ivanova plays Romania's Diana-Ioana Simionescu, Valeria Garnevska faces Germany's Sonja Zhenihova, Teodora Naydenova meets the Netherlands' Luuk Ebeling Koning, and Nicole Ivanova takes on Romania's Ilinca Dalina Amariei.
