The State Agency for Metrological and Technical Surveillance (DAMTN) has completed its scheduled inspections of heating companies across the country for the first quarter of 2025. The agency inspected 14 key heating companies, including Toplofikatsiya Sofia, Toplofikatsiya Burgas, Veolia Energy Varna, and others, for compliance with the Measurement Act (MA) regarding the use of heat meters and water meters for commercial payments.
A total of 595 sites – subscriber stations in residential buildings, companies, schools, kindergartens, and other public buildings – were inspected randomly. Inspectors thoroughly reviewed 616 heat meters and 548 water meters, focusing on the approved type, compliance with technical requirements, proper use, condition, periodic inspection, and the presence of appropriate markings.
