A folk dance group from Burgas has won the "Most Creative Participants" award at the Awladna International Forum for Arts of the Gifted in Cairo. The "Nikola Ginov" ensemble, run by the Burgas municipal enterprise International Youth Cultural Centre, took the prize from the international jury at the event's tenth, anniversary edition.

The forum ran from 17 to 24 September 2026 and drew youth groups and talents from more than 40 countries. This year's theme was "10 Years of Happiness & Love".

The Burgas dancers performed Bulgarian folk dances at the opening ceremony on the stage of the Cairo Opera House, and took part in other shows during their stay in Egypt.

Organisers say the forum has become a place where young people from different countries meet, make friends and create together.

The dancers also met staff from Bulgaria's diplomatic mission in Egypt. Vladimir Avramov, Bulgaria's chargé d'affaires in Egypt, invited them to take part, and chief artistic director Dimitar Ginov said his support was decisive for the group's participation.

Ginov thanked Avramov for the invitation and support, and also thanked embassy staff Kiril Kurtev and Tsanko Ivanov for their warm welcome and for the help and personal attention they gave the Bulgarian delegation.
