The Burgas Folklore Ensemble received a prestigious award at the International Festival in South Korea.

The Folklore Dance Ensemble "Nikola Ginov" at the Municipal Youth Cultural Center (MMKC) in Burgas, with artistic director Dimitar Ginov, returned from the prestigious Powerful Daegu Festival 2025, held from May 9 to 11 in the South Korean city of Daegu. The Burgas team was the only representative of Bulgaria and Europe among over 5,000 participants from 17 countries, attracting the attention of over 60,000 spectators from around the world.

During the festival days, the ensemble performed a total of 5 presentations, including the official opening, parade, and concert programs on various stages along the central Gukchaebosang-ro boulevard in Daegu, where the event took place. Other participants included ensembles from Japan, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, and Uzbekistan.

For their contribution to the development of culture and arts, as well as for promoting international cultural understanding, the ensemble's director Dimitar Ginov and the ensemble itself received a certificate of appreciation personally from the President of the Festival Organizing Committee.

Powerful Daegu Festival 2025 is one of the largest street cultural events in South Korea, organized by the Daegu Culture and Arts Foundation and the local municipality. The forum includes live music, dance, theater performances, street performances, and performances by young artists on several stages, continuing from noon to midnight. Highlights of the program include the street dance competition, the "Wonderful" parade, and two impressive "Powerful" parades, as well as evening concert performances.
