Burgas is preparing for a record-breaking Marathon in 2025.

On November 9, 2025, the streets of Burgas will once again be filled with thousands of enthusiasts, ready to test their strength and share their love for running. Last year, the event was attended by over 1000 runners from Bulgaria and abroad, and this year the number of participants is expected to double, turning the Burgas Marathon into one of the biggest events in the running calendar in our country.

In addition to the 10 km and 21 km (half marathon) distances from last year, the organizers are introducing two new distances - 5 km, suitable for beginners and children, and 42.195 km full marathon, which will challenge the most enduring competitors. The children's run on the shortest distance is also maintained.

The organizers of the event are the Municipality of Burgas and the "Sports in Free Time" Association, who work to promote an active lifestyle and running as a means of health and social connection. Burgas is known for its rich sports infrastructure and support for all levels of sports - from amateur to professional.

The basis of the route is the 10.5 kilometer loop from last year's edition. For this year, improvements have been made in order to avoid the ascent to the Sea Casino - a part that many participants shared in the feedback form as the most challenging. The new route has minimal climbs and passes through some of the most iconic locations in the city. The start and finish remain on "Aleksandrovska" in the very heart of Burgas, which creates a unique atmosphere and convenience for participants and the audience.

The marathon also has a new website with a registration and information platform - burgasmarathon.bg. There, participants will be able to find all the details about the route, the program and the latest news about the upcoming edition.
