Burgas honors the 189th anniversary of Vasil Levski's birth with a solemn ceremony

City-wide commemoration at the Apostle's monument

With a solemn military ritual, the city of Burgas will pay tribute to the life and work of Vasil Levski. July 18th marks 189 years since the birth of the brightest and most inspiring figure in Bulgarian history – a symbol of freedom, self-sacrifice, and national dignity.

"The Apostle remains an enduring example of patriotism, moral strength, and selfless service to the national ideal."

As a sign of gratitude, the Municipality of Burgas is organizing a wreath-laying ceremony, which will take place:

• Location: Vasil Levski Monument in Seaside Park

The event will be attended by representatives of the state and local government, military personnel, public organizations, students, and citizens. The Municipality of Burgas invites all residents and guests of the city to join the ceremony and bow their heads together in memory of Levski – the figure whose ideals continue to inspire generations of Bulgarians.
