At the end of April, instead of the expected cold weather, Reykjavik welcomed the warm delegation from Burgas. A group of 4 experts from the cultural department of the Municipality of Burgas and musicians from the group "Embraced Cloud" participated in cultural initiatives in the Icelandic capital. They visited over 10 cultural institutions, including the concert hall "Harpa", Reykjavik Music City and Hafnar haus - a cultural hub dedicated to diverse arts. The talented musicians from Burgas presented two unforgettable concerts as part of the BIG BANG festival.
In a responsible gesture, representatives of the Municipality of Reykjavik, led by the Deputy Mayor of Culture Adda Runa, visited Burgas. They participated in local cultural initiatives and visited iconic places such as the tourist complexes "Chengene Skele" and "Akvae Calidae", the Youth Cultural Center and others. They also met with Diana Savateva, Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Burgas, to exchange their vision for the development of culture in the two coastal cities.
Among the many benefits of cultural exchange are valuable practices and inspiring ideas that Burgas will use on the path to becoming the European Capital of Culture 2032. These include the understanding that "Art is our only hope", the focus on building a community, the national policy for promoting Icelandic creativity, as well as the realization that "Culture is identity" and "Culture is business".
