Bozhidar Bozhanov: It's time for GERB to demand the resignation of the head of the CPC Anton Slavchev

It's time for everyone in GERB to sign the request for the resignation of the head of the Anti-Corruption Commission (CPC) Anton Slavchev, wrote the co-chair of "Yes, Bulgaria" Bozhidar Bozhanov on Facebook in connection with a publication by the leader of GERB Boyko Borisov earlier today. In it, he states that all of GERB's trust in the CPC has been exhausted. I believe it should not exist, Borisov added.

I hear that Borisov is renouncing the CPC, which is once again trying to subtly remove the mayor of Varna, through the Municipal Election Commission (OIC) – Varna, Bozhanov also wrote.

BTA reminds that "We Continue the Change" announced last week that the CPC had requested data from the Central Election Commission (CEC) on Kotsev's leave over the past months. "This is given that the leave is absolutely outside the powers of the CPC. It has no right to rule on leave or to order the CEC and OIC to make decisions," the party noted in its position.

On November 23, the municipal election commission in Varna postponed its decision on whether Mayor Blagomir Kotsev should be removed from his post due to long and unjustified absence from the workplace.

The mayor of Varna was detained on July 8, and the case was taken over by the Sofia City Prosecutor's Office. On November 13, the Sofia City Prosecutor's Office filed an indictment in the Sofia City Court. Together with Kotsev, four more defendants were handed over to the court for a total of 12 crimes. On November 19, the Supreme Court of Cassation decided that the case should be considered in the Varna District Court, and not by the Sofia City Court. Through the centralized system for random distribution of cases, Svetla Daskalova was appointed as a judge for the process. On November 27, Kotsev was released on bail of 200,000 leva.
