Bulgarian Folklore Forum Unites Compatriots from Around the World in Lyon

Consul General Nadya Zhivkova-Vaneva opened a jubilee edition of an international Bulgarian cultural gathering, which expects over a thousand participants from various countries.

The tenth consecutive edition of a large-scale Bulgarian folklore forum officially started in Lyon, France, with a ceremonial welcome speech by Consul General Nadya Zhivkova-Vyaneva. The event, organized by local Bulgarian cultural associations, brings together dance ensembles, musicians, and craftsmen from across Europe.

The upcoming cultural program includes diverse performances showcasing authentic Bulgarian folk art. The organizers expect more than 1000 participants and visitors from different countries who will have the opportunity to experience the richness of Bulgarian traditions.

According to the diplomatic representative, such initiatives play an extremely important role in preserving national identity among Bulgarian communities abroad. Special emphasis is placed on engaging the younger generation in preserving cultural heritage through volunteer activities.
