The Vice President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dr. Vasil Todorov, presented long-standing partnership relations with Chinese organizations during an international conference, emphasizing the potential for investments in strategic economic sectors.

During a representative international forum dedicated to the tenth anniversary of the Center for Promoting Agricultural Cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European Countries (CPACCCEEC), Dr. Vasil Todorov outlined the extensive history of bilateral economic relations.

Diplomatic trade contacts between the Bulgarian institution and Chinese partners date back to the distant 1985, when the first agreement for inter-institutional cooperation was signed between the Chinese Committee for International Trade and the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

In his expert presentation, Todorov emphasized the strategic role of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry as a long-term partner of CPACCCEEC, recalling the memorandum of cooperation signed in 2016. Joint activities include organizing joint events, information exchange, and participation in specialized accelerator programs for agricultural startups.

A key focus of the presentation was the national investment strategy for attracting Chinese capital. Bulgaria demonstrated a targeted interest in high-tech and innovative sectors that generate significant added value for the economy.

Among the priority areas, Todorov highlighted agriculture, mechanical engineering, automotive manufacturing, automotive component production, electronics, communication technologies, and the tourism sector. These industries possess potential for substantial technological and economic development.

The forum, which was held at the prestigious Grand Hotel Sofia, brought together over 100 participants from various professional environments - government officials, academic researchers, industry representatives, and young entrepreneurs. The event was broadcast live on the CPACCCEEC YouTube channel.

The Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry's participation in the "One Belt, One Road" initiative further demonstrated Bulgaria's strategic interest in deepening economic relations with China. The event reinforced the chamber's position as a key intermediary in international trade relations.

The international conference outlined the prospects for future cooperation between Bulgaria and China, emphasizing mutual economic interest and the potential for joint development in various high-tech industries.
