Bulgarians in Iran called to immediately leave the country

In view of the growing instability in the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) is urgently calling on all Bulgarian citizens present in the country to leave Iran immediately. This is due to the serious escalation of tensions in the region.

For Bulgarian citizens who for some reason have to stay in Iran, the MFA recommends strictly adhering to the security instructions issued by the local authorities. They should regularly monitor the development of the situation and avoid areas that are military facilities or places where events with large crowds are taking place.

The Ministry urgently calls on our compatriots in Iran to inform the Embassy in Tehran of their location and the planned duration of their stay as soon as possible. This can be done by phone or by email to the Consular Service.

If necessary, Bulgarian citizens can contact the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Tehran on landline phones or by email. For emergencies, there is also a possibility to contact outside office hours on a specified mobile number.

The MFA reminds that signals and requests for assistance in emergency situations of Bulgarian citizens are accepted around the clock on the phones of the Situation Center Directorate or at the specified email address.

The recommendation to Bulgarian citizens traveling, temporarily or permanently residing abroad is to register in the "I'm traveling to..." section on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
