Prime Minister Andrei Gyurov made important statements before the first session of the 52nd National Assembly. He emphasized that society has voted with enormous expectations for the future government and called on the new political forces not to give in to emotions, but to focus on the work.
Societal Expectations and the Role of the New Authority
When asked whether he had held talks with President Rumen Radev regarding future ministers in the regular cabinet, Gyurov categorically replied that no such talks had taken place. He added:
According to Gyurov, the stability of the future government will depend on the existence of parliamentary support. He also pointed to a specific example of an acceptable cadre:
- If Georgi Kandev remains Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, it would be the best sign for the transition to the new administration.
- It is crucial to find the right people and provide them with a clear direction and support.
The End of the Borisov-Peevski Model
The caretaker cabinet left behind a message for change in political style. Gyurov emphasized that during this period, it was proven that Bulgaria can function better without the old political model.
