Celebration for the Day of the National Enlighteners in Pomorie in 2025

On October 30, 2025, Thursday, a day of particular significance in the Bulgarian calendar – the eve of the Day of the National Enlighteners – the Svetlina 1939 Community Center has planned a solemn celebration of the holiday. The event, which will bring together residents and guests of the city, includes a traditional torchlight procession and a subsequent concert performed by talents from the youngest generation.

Preparation for the procession seems intense. Already from early afternoon, there is a lively atmosphere in the courtyard of the monastery "St. George the Victorious." The excitement of the upcoming holiday is palpable. Precisely at 5:00 p.m. from this sacred place for every soul, a torchlight procession will start, carrying the symbolism of the holiday and the portraits of the great enlighteners who have left us their legacy. The procession will pass through the central streets, drawing in the city's residents.

Dozens, perhaps hundreds of people, will gather in front of the monument of Hristo Botev, where flowers will be laid as a sign of gratitude to all the heroes and martyrs who gave their lives for the Bulgarian language, faith, and freedom. With the onset of dusk and the lighting of the torches, the atmosphere will take on an even more solemn appearance, reminding us of the essence of this important day.

At 5:30 p.m., after the procession, the festive mood will move to the theater hall of the Svetlina 1939 Community Center. There will be a concert in which enlightened Pomorie children will participate. This promises to be a real celebration of talents and an example of passing on values from generation to generation.
