On the eve of the holiday, on March 20, at 6:30 PM in the House of the Writer, World Poetry Day will be celebrated for the 19th time. Together with it, we will welcome Spring Equinox and mark International Puppet Theater Day.

Since its first edition in 2008, the event has been held under the auspices of the Regional Governor of Burgas. Thus, for yet another time, in unison with the approaching spring, the writer's house will become a place for inspiration and communication through poetry, theater, and music.

Burgas writers will read their own poetry and poetry by world poets, music will be performed by pianist Elena Lipovik, and we will meet with the art of the youngest puppet artists – the children from the "Smile" Theater School, led by Rumyana Kraleva. 

"Poetic Cafe" on the occasion of World Poetry Day is organized by the "Lyuben Karavelov 1940" Community Center in partnership with the Burgas Writers' Community, with the assistance of Burgas Municipality and supports our city's candidacy for European Capital of Culture 2032.

"For every living reader and every living poet" – under this motto, since 1999, every spring on March 21, at the initiative of UNESCO, World Poetry Day is celebrated. The aim of this holiday is to promote reading, writing, and publishing poetry and to give recognition and strength to national, regional, and international poetry organizations.
