Thousands flock to Burgas for a nationwide sporting event

On June 7, 2025, Rosenets Park will host one of the biggest sporting events in Bulgaria for the current year - the fifth edition of the Olympic cross triathlon "Lionheart - Utopia". The event is organized by the "Lionheart" Association, the "Active Life" NGO and the Municipality of Burgas and is expected to attract over 1,000 spectators.

The competition will start at 9 o'clock in the morning from the Chengene Skele Cultural and Tourist Complex. Over 700 triathletes from Bulgaria and abroad will compete in three disciplines - swimming, cycling and running. The first discipline is swimming in the waters of Chengene Skele, where participants will swim twice 750 meters. The second stage is cycling in Rosenets Park and the Strandzha mountain with a total length of 40 km. The last discipline is a 10 km run in Rosenets Park itself.

After the end of the competition, there will be games for the youngest future triathletes, followed by the official awards ceremony, which will end with an unforgettable party and live music with Maria Trifonova from the Silouet group. Entrance to the party event is free and the organizers invite all Burgas residents and guests of the city to join in.

"For the fifth consecutive year, we have embarked on the organization of this incredible adventure. With each passing year, the place where the base camp is located - Chengene Skele - is becoming more and more improved. The efforts of the municipality are definitely bearing fruit and contributing to attracting more and more tourists to the Rosenets Park area. There are many green spaces, playgrounds and restaurants here. We have also prepared an interesting exhibition area, dotted with our wonderful partners. One of the goals of the Lionheart Association is to promote natural and cultural landmarks through sports. The activity of the association started in Primorsko and has expanded to Rosenets thanks to the ideas and collaboration with Utopia Forest, the "Active Life" NGO. Our task is for all 700+ participants, in addition to measuring their strength in the competition, to recognize the area as a place for family and sports tourism. We thank the Municipality of Burgas that for the fifth consecutive year they are our partner, because without their help, such a sports event would be difficult to happen," the organizers shared.

The organizers of the "Olympic Cross Triathlon Lionheart Utopia" commented that the holding of the largest cross triathlon in Bulgaria is upcoming, which will take place on 05-07.09.2025 in Primorsko.
