"The Barber of Seville" returns to the Burgas Opera stage with a novel perspective and star performers

Burgas, Bulgaria " On November 6, at 7:00 PM, the stage of the State Opera " Burgas will come alive with the laughter and energy of "The Barber of Seville" by Gioachino Rossini. After a year's absence from the creative calendar, the audience will enjoy an innovative interpretation of the beloved opera, promising unforgettable moments and an artistic explosion.

The atmosphere in the hall foretells a celebration of music and comedy. From the moment one enters, one senses the anticipation and excitement of the audience, eager to immerse themselves in Rossini's world.

The revived spectacle, directed by Prof. Dr. Alexander Tekeliev, combines dynamic stage action and cheerful emotions. The visual aspect of the production, enriched by the set and costume design solutions of Denis Ivanov, promises the vibrancy and freshness that are the hallmark of "The Barber of Seville".

Under the baton of Ivan Kozhuharov, we will see a stellar cast on stage. Baritone Andrey Yurkovsky, winner of the third prize from the International Opera Competition "Stoyan Popov", will embody the role of Figaro. His stage image will be shaped in a way reminiscent of Elvis Presley's style and the rock era of the 70s, which adds an extra touch to the classical work. No less charming will be Maria Yurkovskaya, mezzo-soprano, who won the second prize in the "Stoyan Popov" competition. She will embody the role of Rosina, and the two soloists, who are partners both on stage and in life, promise unforgettable on-screen chemistry.

Together with them, other famous names will shine on stage. Nikolay Motsov, a lyrical-spinto tenor and professor at the National Academy of Music "Prof. Pancho Vladigerov" " Sofia, will breathe life into Count Almaviva, in the new production " Sheikh Almaviva. Kostadin Mechkov, with his unchanging charisma, will embody the image of Doctor Bartolo, and Delyan Slavov will put mastery into the role of Don Basilio. Soprano Nona Krustnikova will provoke laughter with her participation as Berta, and Yordan Hristozov will enter the roles of Fiorello and Officer.
