The seventh "Deep Blue Sea" festival for young artists opened in Burgas on Monday, 12 October, with a concert by the guitar ensemble of the Prof. Pancho Vladigerov National School of Music and Dance Arts. This year's motto is "The Eurovision Emotion in Burgas". Organisers say it links the creative energy of young people with Eurovision, one of the biggest international music events.

Until 17 October, young talents from different arts will take part in open-air art workshops, literary workshops and a master class on making short videos. They will try new things, swap ideas and build their skills.

The project is led by Prof. Svetlozar Benchev, director of the Burgas branch of the National Academy of Art. Deputy mayor for culture and religious affairs Diana Savateva, Kiril Todorov, Lyubov Dzhurgurova, Zhivka Ivanova, participants and guests also attended the opening.

The main partners are DAS Hotel Marina Burgas, the Sea Casino Cultural Centre, St Anastasia Island and the Georgi Baev gallery.

The festival is part of a programme backing Burgas's bid to be European Capital of Culture in 2032.
