The prestigious international literary event will be held in Burgas from June 5 to 8. The festival was created on the initiative of the Municipality of Burgas and will bring together over 60 writers, translators, publishers and literary professionals from five countries in the region. Participants will take part in literary readings, professional panels and meetings with readers. The curator of the festival is Svetlozar Zhelev.
The event aims to create a platform for sustainable cultural dialogue and cooperation, opening new spaces for professional exchange and exciting encounters with the literatures of the Black Sea region countries. The festival will be opened on June 5 at 5:30 pm at the Regional Library "Peyo Yavorov", which is the main host of the events.
The program includes professional discussions on topics such as: literature and politics, children's books in the Black Sea region, literary tourism, the challenges of translation and the possibilities for international visibility through the European Union Literature Prize, as well as special literary readings with the participation of writers from the five countries. Five literary readings with the presentation of books by some of the most popular names in contemporary Bulgarian literature are also planned for the general public.
The second edition of the Black Sea International Literary Festival is organized by the Municipality of Burgas, with the support of the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Bulgaria and in partnership with a number of cultural institutions and agencies.
