Young author Alexander Dimitrov will present his collection of short stories "Silhouettes in Japan" at the Regional Library "Peyo Yavorov" on April 15th at 6:00 PM.

The book takes readers through the traditional streets of the old capital Kyoto, through the lights of Osaka to the snowiest Japanese city of Aomori. The stories describe the fragile boundary between reality and illusion, revealing a different and full-blooded Japan beyond the veil of everyday life. The characters undergo personal transformations, encounters with mythological figures and unexpected discoveries amidst the nature of Wakayama and the beaches of Shirahama.

The author Alexander Dimitrov is a recipient of an award from the National Poetry Competition "Veselin Hanchev". In 2016, he went to Osaka as a scholarship holder of the Japanese government, where he lived for six years. Dimitrov is known in the online space under the pseudonym Charlie Parker and shows a deep interest in contemporary Japanese literature, manga culture and music.

The event offers an opportunity for the Burgas audience to get to know the author personally and to discover the layers of Japanese culture through the eyes of a Bulgarian traveler and researcher.
