The sea at the center of the new summer documentary film festival in Sozopol

The old town of Sozopol will host the first edition of the summer documentary film festival "Documentary by the Coast" from June 20 to 23, 2025. The screenings will be held outdoors in the amphitheater and will present a selection of 12 films related to the maritime theme - culture, ecology, fishing and the history of the Black Sea.

Highlights of the program include the Bulgarian premiere of the documentary "The Last Lighthouse", which follows the life of the guardians of Cape Emine, and the Greek film "The Sea Between Us", which addresses the common environmental challenges in the Aegean and Black Seas. After each screening, discussions with directors and experts will be held, and admission for the audience will be free.
