The Fashion World: A Visual Chronicle of a Century of Clothing

Regional Historical Museum - Burgas opens a large-scale exhibition dedicated to fashion transformation over the past century. The project, developed by the State Archives Agency, offers an in-depth look at clothing from the mid-19th to mid-20th century.

Curated by Adriana Popova and visually designed by Iva Velinova, the exhibition presents a rich collection of photographic evidence. The exhibition covers various clothing categories - from elegant palace dresses to everyday urban costumes, including wedding attire, sports and carnival ensembles.

The focus is on the philosophy of "slow fashion" - a concept that opposes modern mass production. The presented clothes are distinguished by exceptional quality, precise craftsmanship, and the use of durable, high-class textile materials. Each garment tells a story about the aesthetic understanding and social norms of its time.

The exhibition is located in an authentic interior recreating the urban environment of Burgas from the early 20th century. This context further emphasizes the connection between fashion and urban culture, which gradually entered Bulgarian society during the Revival era.

Visitors can view the exceptional collection every day from 10:00 to 18:00 at the Historical Museum on 31 Lermontov Street. The exhibition offers a unique perspective on fashion evolution, turning clothing into a chronicle of social changes.
