The Ministry of Innovation and Growth (MIG) is taking measures to improve the business environment in Bulgaria. The deadlines for administrative services to investors have been halved, procedures for certification and support of their projects have been simplified. MIG invests in the development of digital hubs, financing of start-ups and research activities, emphasizing the importance of regional cooperation and joint initiatives.

The Ministry of Innovation and Growth (MIG) is taking active measures to improve the business environment in Bulgaria. Deputy Minister Krasimir Yakimov announced that the deadlines for administrative service of investors have been halved. All documents are now processed much faster, with the Bulgarian Investment Agency and municipalities having only a 14-day deadline for review.

Yakimov explained that the requirement for a minimum self-participation of the investor with their own or other private capital has been reduced from 40% to 25%. According to him, these steps will lead to timely implementation of investment projects, accelerated start-up or expansion of production, and the creation of new jobs.

The Ministry will open many opportunities for companies through European funding support in the coming months. In addition to procedures for digitalization and modernization, MIG is also supporting energy efficiency, which is key to the competitiveness of enterprises in the region.

One of the main priorities for regional competitiveness, according to Yakimov, is the creation, development, and retention of talent. MIG is investing in the development of digital hubs, financing of start-ups, and research and development activities.

As a key potential area for cross-border cooperation and joint projects, Yakimov outlined the development of digital infrastructure and artificial intelligence, highlighting the advantages of the upgraded supercomputer in Sofia Tech Park and the AI Factory project. He also emphasized the importance of transport connectivity between the three countries.

In conclusion, the Deputy Minister stated that the Ministry is open to various forms of cooperation and will continue to be an active partner in the regional economic dialogue. He expressed confidence that today's challenges can be turned into opportunities.
