"Black and Gold" Exhibition by Ivan Kostov in Burgas

A non-standard event is set to expand the cultural calendar of Burgas, adding a new and modern touch to the city's rich summer offerings. On August 25, at exactly 7:00 PM, the doors of the "Hristo Fotev" hall in the "Morsko Kazino" Cultural Center will open for the inauguration of the "Black and Gold" exhibition by artist Ivan Kostov. The exhibition will be accessible to residents and guests of the city until September 5.

The exhibition, which promises to attract the attention of connoisseurs and the curious, is part of a broader initiative aimed at supporting young artists. Its inception was started by municipal councilor Yasen Prodanov, who has championed this cause even before the start of his current term. He is joined by his colleague from the Municipal Council, lawyer Elena Kokalarova, who also provides significant assistance in organizing the event.

Although not a professional artist, Ivan Kostov proves that art is not just a hobby, but an inseparable part of his life. His works have already received international recognition, participating in the prestigious biennale organized by the House of Humor and Satire in Gabrovo. Moreover, one of his works was chosen by a young writer for the cover of her book, highlighting the power of his visual message.

Kostov's style is strongly influenced by the pop art movement that emerged in the late 1950s. In his previous works, bright colors, clean forms, and dynamic lines dominate. Some of these works seem to have come directly from the pages of a comic book, exuding energy and immediacy.

"Black and Gold" - the artist's new direction

Now, however, visitors will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a different, more introspective part of the artist's work. The "Black & Gold" exhibition presents 20 portraits created in a classic black-and-white palette, but with a pronounced, contemporary interpretation. Each of these portraits seems to tell its own, hidden story, capturing emotions and moments from imaginary narratives.

A particularly strong accent in the canvases are the gold elements, which become a characteristic feature of the exhibition. These golden touches give the works not only elegance, but also a note of mystery and fairy-tale, turning each painting into a sealed moment, taken as if from the pages of an old book. While the public enjoys the exhibition, they can feel the quiet, contemplative atmosphere that fills the space, allowing each visitor to touch the exciting world of the artist's imagination.
