Georgi Toshev will present his book "Leda and Her Words" and the documentary "The Leda Taseva Mystery" to audiences in Burgas on October 9, marking 100 years since the actress was born.

The event starts at 5:30pm in the Burgas hall of the Grand Hotel and Spa Primoretz. Entry is free.

The book reads like a personal notebook, bringing together poems, manuscripts, personal thoughts, biographical excerpts and notes on theatre, alongside rare and previously unpublished photos and archive footage. The material comes from the actress's family and from theatre archives, and shows a lesser-known side of her: her talent for poetry.

The documentary draws on archive footage from the Bulgarian National Film Library and accounts from people who knew her. It follows her best-known roles and her work with Ivan Andonov, Stefan Sarchadzhiev, Vili Tsankov and Leon Daniel.

Leda Taseva also has ties to Burgas: in the late 1950s she performed at the Adriana Budevska Drama Theatre there.

Georgi Toshev is a journalist, producer and researcher of Bulgarian culture.

The presentation is part of the ninth Port Prim Art Fest, organized by the Grand Hotel and Spa Primoretz and Burgas council. The program forms part of Burgas's bid to become European Capital of Culture in 2032.
