For the second year in a row, the "Lunar" light art festival will be held on the Southern Black Sea coast, with residents and guests of the region able to observe light works in Tsarevo, Lozenets, Varvara, Ahtopol, and Sinemorets, the organizers from MP-Studio and Tsarevo Municipality announced.

The second seaside edition of the event will take place between August 7 and 10 under the motto "Sea of Lights" and will be free of charge each of the four evenings. It will transform the five resorts into a coastal stage for light art, with Varvara joining the route this year. "The festival emphasizes the natural beauty of the region. Turning the event into a tradition supports our strategy for attracting new audiences and establishing the region as a cultural and tourist destination," said the Mayor of Tsarevo, Marin Kirov.

According to Marin Petkov, founder of MP-Studio and the Lunar festival, its first seaside edition last year was "warmly received by the local community and visitors." He adds that this year he and his team are preparing "an even more inspiring program that will make the natural and cultural riches along the route shine in an unforgettable way." It is expected that works by artists from Bulgaria and abroad, created especially for the natural and urban environment of the coast, will be shown in the upcoming edition.

BTA recalls that in 2025, Tsarevo became the first municipality after the capital in which the event presented diverse forms of light art under the open sky. Eight digital works were presented within it, which attracted a large audience.

This year, the Lunar festival celebrates five years since its creation, with over 120 light works by more than 70 authors from all over the world presented in its program so far. The event annually attracts over 600,000 visitors in Sofia, its organizers recall.
