Pomorie Crafts Festival 2025: Traditions and Arts

With the approach of autumn, the coastal town of Pomorie is preparing to turn into a lively hub of the arts, hosting for the third consecutive year its colorful Festival of Crafts. For ten days, from September 5 to 14, the town’s central street will welcome master artisans and creators from across the country, offering visitors a rich panorama of Bulgarian traditions and contemporary creativity.

The event, which has established itself as a significant cultural gathering, will give guests the chance to immerse themselves in the world of handmade creations. The open-air market will be filled with stalls offering everything from delicate ceramics and warm woolen products to unique jewelry, traditional souvenirs, fine textiles, and art decorations. Each piece carries the spirit of Bulgarian craftsmanship passed down through generations, while also reflecting the modern vision of today’s artists.

One of the most exciting highlights of the program is the initiative “Crafts School for Young and Old – The Workshop.”

On September 6 and 7, this special space will give both children and adults the opportunity to take part in various workshops. Under the guidance of skilled craftsmen, they will be able to work with:

• wool
• candle making
• lavender products
• dolls and colorful figurines

The cultural program promises to be equally rich and engaging. On September 6, the stage will come alive with performances sure to win the applause of the audience. The theater school “Talantino” will present its play “Who Will Play Hitar Petar?”, adding humor and traditional folklore to the atmosphere. Afterwards, Debora Angelova will invite everyone to join in folk dance lessons. The evening will conclude with a concert titled “Beauty, Wisdom and Inspiration”, performed by the Dance Ensemble “Zdravets” and the PFTA at Chitalishte “Prosveta-1927,” town of Kameno.

The Highlight of the Event

The culmination of the festival will be a spectacular parade, eagerly anticipated by many. The actors from Fireter, dressed in traditional costumes, will enchant the audience with impressive stilt-walking and a captivating fire show. With their artistic performances, they will transport spectators into the world of Bulgarian tradition, creating a magical atmosphere. The fiery flames, dancing in sync with the stilts, will be the true highlight of the festival’s program.
