For the sixteenth consecutive year, on October 4th, the city will host the traditional "Autumn Forum" of the Bulgarian folk dance club "Chanove". The event, organized by the club on the occasion of its anniversary, will bring together dance groups from all over the country. The celebration is expected to turn into a real spectacle, attracting lovers of folk dance.
The start of the celebration will be set at 11:00 am with a parade, which will start from "The Clock" (in front of the "Bulgaria" hotel) and will head to "Troykata" square (in front of the "Tria City Center" store). Around noon, at 12:00 pm, the official program will begin on "Troykata" square, presenting the club and its dancers. Excitement is already felt on the square, and preparations for the event are in full swing. Enthusiasm reigns everywhere, the anticipation is great.
The event, which is not competitive in nature, aims to promote Bulgarian dance folklore and the club's activities in the city. The "Autumn Forum" is shaping up to be a celebration of dance and tradition.
The Bulgarian folk dance club "Chanove" was founded in 2005 in Sofia by Milena and Kostadin Gospodinovi. Over the past twenty years, the club has expanded and is currently the only one in Bulgaria, represented in six cities - Sofia, Plovdiv, Burgas, Stara Zagora, Chirpan and Kostenets. The "Chanove" club has over 1000 people throughout the country.
In Burgas, the club has existed since 2009 under the leadership of Albena and Sevdalin Trendafilovi and enjoys great interest. The beginning was set in October 2009 in OU "Lyuben Karavelov" in the "Vazrazhdane" residential area, where classes continue to this day. Currently, rehearsals are also held in three other locations - DG "Hans Christian Andersen" (new building) in the Lazur residential area; DG "Zvezditsa Zornitsa" in the Zornitsa residential area and in the building of TPK "Chernomorka" (at the roundabout of "Trapezitsa") in the Bratya Miladinovi residential area.
The club actively participates in many of the events of the Municipality of Burgas, supports various charitable causes and performs excellently in many festivals throughout the country - Varna, Ruse, Malko Tarnovo, Pazardzhik, Kazanlak, Pomorie and others.
In addition, on September 29, 2024, in DG "Zvezditsa Zornitsa" in the "Zornitsa" residential area, a new project - "Balkan Dances" - started. For the first time in Burgas, folk dances from all Balkan countries will be studied. Classes will be held every Monday and Wednesday from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
In September and October, new groups for beginners in Bulgarian folk dances will also start on the following dates and locations:
- On September 23, 2024 (Tuesday) - every Tuesday and Thursday, from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm, in DG "Hans Christian Andersen" (new building) in the "Lazur" residential area;
- On September 23, 2024 (Tuesday) - every Tuesday and Thursday, from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm, in OU "Lyuben Karavelov" in the "Vazrazhdane" residential area;
- On September 29, 2024 (Monday) - every Monday and Wednesday, from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm, in DG "Zvezditsa Zornitsa" in the "Zornitsa" residential area.
