The Age of Aquarius: Theater Festival in Burgas - 15th Edition

The 15th edition of the festival for Bulgarian physical and visual theater "The Age of Aquarius" in Burgas begins

Burgas will become the center of theatrical art between October 15 and 19, when the 15th edition of the festival for Bulgarian physical and visual theater "The Age of Aquarius" will be held. The organizers from the Independent Foundation "Theater in a Suitcase", with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Burgas Municipality, have prepared a rich program that promises to immerse the audience in a world of experiments, innovations and artistic mastery.

The festival will unfold its stage in iconic spaces of the city, including the Cultural House NHK, the State Puppet Theater, the Drama Theater "Adriana Budevska" and the Cultural Center "Morsko Casino". The presence of leading theater troupes, directors and artists from Bulgaria and abroad is expected, who will present new trends and forms in the performing arts. The atmosphere of the opening, which will take place in the Cultural House NHK, is expected to be solemn and exciting, and visitors will gradually take their seats, eager to see the first performance.

The festival, dedicated to the new generation of theatrical searches, will focus on experimental stage forms, contemporary dance, puppet and visual theater. The opening on October 15 will be marked by the performance "Nestinari" of the State Puppet Theater - Burgas. The production, by Petar Todorov, with choreography by Petya Stoykova and music by Petya Dimanova, promises to be an impressive experience.

The program on October 16 includes the dramatic puppet show "Momo or Life Before Us" of the State Puppet Theater - Plovdiv, inspired by the novel by Romain Gary, as well as the contemporary dance performance "Hostage" by Philip Milanov and the dance company "Stream Dance" from Sofia.

On October 17, the audience will have the opportunity to enjoy the dance theater "Last Orbit" with concept and choreography by Deyan Georgiev, as well as the performance "Behind You" by the ballet "Arabesque". The evening will end with the presentation of "Iris" - contemporary dance by the Burgas troupe "Dyun".

October 18 will offer the public the performance "Black Birds" by the dance theater "Pars Pro Toto" from Reykjavik, the dramatic puppet show "37 Matchsticks" by "36 Monkeys" from Sofia and the dance performance "Collapse" by Angelina Gavrilova from the ballet "Arabesque".

The final day of the festival, October 19, will begin with the puppet-visual performance "Blizzard" of the State Puppet Theater - Burgas and the screening of the silent film "Turlu Gyuvech" of the Center for Arts "For the Rhodopes". The festival will end with the theatrical performance "All my actions today will aim to avoid what I have to do" of the Theater "Guillotine" from Stockholm with the participation of Tana Maneva.
