The cinematographic phenomenon "28 Years Later" became an undisputed summer blockbuster, demonstrating exceptional potential in the box office market. The production, realized with a budget of 60 million dollars, managed to generate impressive revenues of 107.1 million dollars just days after its premiere on June 20.
The creative tandem consisting of director Danny Boyle and screenwriter Alex Garland achieved remarkable success by returning to the roots of the original concept. The film not only preserved the dark atmosphere but also expanded the aesthetic boundaries of the horror genre.
Critical publications such as Hollywood Reporter, RogerEbert.com, and the British edition of GQ unanimously described the production as impressive. Experts highlighted the masterful visual storytelling and emotional tension that transform the film into something more than a typical genre movie.
The success of "28 Years Later" was so significant that the film company Sony immediately took steps to expand the franchise. As a result of the strong performance, the studio is already planning a sequel with the working title "The Bone Temple", whose premiere is scheduled for January 2026.
