Dobrich's Yordan Yovkov Drama Theatre will bring its political satire "Cunning Petar and Nasreddin Hodja – Saviours of Modern Bulgaria" to Burgas on 26 November at 7pm, the organisers said. The show was first announced for 15 October but was postponed.
Tickets bought in advance are valid for the new date and do not need to be re-validated. The organisers apologised to the audience for the inconvenience and thanked them for their understanding.
In the show, Cunning Petar, Nasreddin Hodja, Bay Ganyo and other classic Bulgarian and Balkan characters face today's problems. The play looks at Bulgaria's social and political problems with irony and sarcasm. Its humour exposes the absurdities of society and makes viewers think about their own place in it.
Kostadin Bandutov directs, and Nikolay Vaklinov wrote the music. The two also wrote the song lyrics. Dimitar Mitev designed the sets, Yana Vasileva the costumes and Tanya Dyankova the choreography. Elena Karabelova is the vocal coach.
Eleven actors will appear on stage: Valeri Markov, Krasimir Demirov, Georgi Georgiev, Georgi Stoyanov-Gesh, Lyubov Nikolova, Dimitrina Gineva, Elisia Jenkins, Tatyana Hristova, Dimitar Petrov, Filip Yanev and Martin Todorov.
