Cultural success for Burgas: "Golden Feather" for prominent figures

The prestigious "Golden Feather" awards were presented at a glamorous ceremony at the "City Mark" art center in the capital. Among those honored with the prize, established in 1996 by "Cantus Firmus" and the "Makta" gallery, were two ladies from Burgas – Deputy Mayor Diana Savateva and music educator Lyudmila Ivanova.

"I accept this award as a sign that cultural Burgas is becoming more visible on the national map," shared Diana Savateva.

The "Golden Feather" award is a recognition of overall contribution to culture and the arts – from literature and music to cinema and journalism. A total of 24 awards were presented this year.

Why is this recognition important?

  • Visibility for the regions: Savateva's success highlights the importance of cultural events outside the capital.
  • Professionalism: Lyudmila Ivanova was honored for her indisputable contribution to music pedagogy.
  • Institutional prestige: The National Academy of Art, which maintains a branch in the seaside city, was also honored with an award for its 130th anniversary.

Among the other recipients of the prize this year are the journalist Boyko Vasilev, actors Koyna Ruseva, Yavor Milushev, and Pavel Poppandov, as well as directors Kristina Grozeva and Petar Valchanov.
