The SOLE festival, dedicated to Spanish music, culture and cuisine, invites cinema lovers and enthusiasts of Spanish culture to a special Panorama of Contemporary Spanish Cinema. The event will take place on June 21 and 22 (Saturday and Sunday) at the Expo Center "Flora" in Burgas.
The program offers a selected selection of films - comedies and social dramas, awarded at international festivals and with the participation of some of the brightest names in contemporary Spanish and Latin American cinema. The titles include "Stories That Are Not to Be Told", "On the Edge", "Blondie", "The Good Boss", "Parallel Mothers" and "Sentimental".
On June 21 (Saturday), three films will be screened. At 2:00 pm, "Stories That Are Not to Be Told" will be shown - five comic and emotional stories about human weaknesses, surprises in love and social blunders. At 4:00 pm, "On the Edge" will follow - an intense social drama, telling a day in the life of three people fighting against eviction, with the participation of Penélope Cruz. The program for the day will end at 6:00 pm with "Blondie" - a story about a free-spirited mother and her son, living as best friends.
On June 22 (Sunday), three more films will be screened. At 2:00 pm, "The Good Boss" will be shown - a satirical portrait of a factory owner who tries to maintain "harmony" in his workforce before an important visit, with an outstanding performance by Javier Bardem. At 4:00 pm, "Parallel Mothers" will follow - a story about motherhood, memory and traumas from the past, with the participation of Penélope Cruz. The program will end at 6:00 pm with "Sentimental" - a funny and provocative comedy about two neighboring couples who meet for dinner.
The Panorama of Contemporary Spanish Cinema is part of the rich cultural program of the SOLE festival, which combines the passion for Spanish music, gastronomy and art. The screenings offer the opportunity to closely encounter some of the most current titles in Spanish cinema - from inspiring human stories to satirical and provocative tales, recipients of prestigious international awards. We expect all enthusiasts of the seventh art and cultural experiences to join this special event, which enriches the festival scene in Burgas with another lively bridge between Spain and Bulgaria.
