Burgas to Host Balkan Sanda Games: Combat Sports

Burgas is establishing itself on the international stage of combat sports, preparing to host the Balkan Sanda Games. This specific martial art, with its unique rules, will bring together competitors from different countries in the seaside city. The matches will be held on a platform measuring 8 by 8 meters, without ropes, where fighters will compete with boxing gloves.

With the special permission of the World Sanda Federation, this competition of a similar rank will be held for the first time outside of China. The organizers of the forum announced the news at a press conference. Among them were the chairman of the Bulgarian Wushu Federation, Stefan Kolev, and the chairman of the Turkish Wushu Federation, Abdulrahman Akyuz.

The presence of Mayor Dimitar Nikolov, Deputy Mayor Manol Todorov, and representatives of the Bulgarian team underlines the importance of the event for the city and the country.

"Burgas was chosen for this competition because it has proven itself as the perfect host city," said Mayor Dimitar Nikolov. "Thanks to all the events we have held, thanks to the good conditions for accommodation, logistics and others. More than 50 volunteers from Burgas schools will participate in this tournament. It is the first professional one to be held outside of China and will have a high viewership. I am convinced that Burgas will continue to prove itself as a city and location for high-category combat sports."

Organizing an event of such a scale requires serious preparation, and the tension and excitement can already be felt in the hall.

Bulgaria will be represented by competitors such as Bogdan Stoykov, with a rich career in combat sports, Petar Stoykov, Dimitar Iliev, and Rusi Hadzhiev. The competitors are preparing hard, hoping to represent their country with dignity.

Teams from 12 countries will participate in the competition, hosting some of the strongest competitors in the world. Along with the Balkan participants, Sweden and Ukraine will also have their representatives.

On November 14 at 6:30 PM in the "Arena Burgas" hall, the drawing of the competitors will take place. The start of the fight nights will be given on November 15 at 7:00 PM again in the "Arena Burgas" hall.

The event is expected with great interest from fans of combat sports. The atmosphere in the city is already electrified, and the locals are hoping for spectacular and memorable matches.
