Heat stops trucks: Restrictions for heavy goods vehicles due to high temperatures

The Road Infrastructure Agency is imposing restrictions on the movement of trucks over 20 tons in 15 districts due to expected temperatures above 35 degrees. See which sections are affected.

Heavy goods vehicle traffic restrictions due to high temperatures

Due to the forecasted heat and temperatures above 35 degrees, the Road Infrastructure Agency (RIA) is introducing temporary traffic restrictions for heavy goods vehicles over 20 tons.

The measure is necessary to protect the road surface from deformation and ensure traffic safety.

When and where will traffic be stopped?

The restriction is in effect for the afternoon hours between 13:00 and 21:00. The ban covers the following regions:

Advice for drivers

The RIA appeals to drivers to drive with increased caution, maintain a safe distance, and not use emergency lanes for overtaking. Also, be careful when passing through the Hemus Motorway in the Lovech region, where cleaning activities are being carried out on June 30 and July 1.
