Ornithologists have completed the 50th census of wintering waterfowl in Bulgaria. Over 40 teams surveyed more than 250 wetlands, discovering atypical species as well.

Ornithologists in Bulgaria have completed the jubilee 50th count of wintering waterfowl. This is part of an international initiative that covers Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East.

Over the course of four days, over 40 teams surveyed more than 250 wetlands in the country. They also spotted rare species that typically winter in Africa and the Middle East, making the count particularly interesting.
