During the night, the rain will stop almost throughout the whole country, and the wind will subside in most of the country by morning. The minimum temperatures today will be between minus 7° and 3°, in Sofia – around minus 1°.
A yellow code – a warning for icy weather, during which temperatures remain below zero even during the day, has been announced in Northern Bulgaria for ten regions, where the maximum temperatures will be no more than minus 2° – minus 1°. These are the regions of Vidin, Montana, Vratsa, Pleven, Lovech, Gabrovo, Veliko Tarnovo, Ruse, Razgrad and Targovishte.
In the rest of the country, values from 0° to 8° are expected in the afternoon, in Sofia – around 4°.
During the day, the cloud cover will temporarily decrease, but then it will increase again, first in the northeastern regions. A weak wind will blow, in Northeastern Bulgaria – a moderate wind from west-northwest, which will strengthen in the afternoon.
In the mountains, a moderate and strong wind from west-northwest will blow. The maximum temperatures on our highest peaks will be around minus 6 – minus 5 degrees.
In the following days until the end of this week and during the first half of the new week, the cloud cover will be variable, more often significant. Only in some places, mainly in the northeastern and mountainous regions, there will be light snowfall.
The wind will be oriented from the northwest, and on Sunday in Southwestern Bulgaria it will be moderate, in the rest of the country – strong. The minimum temperatures will be between minus 5° and 0°, and the maximum – between 1° and 6°.
In the Danube Plain, the snow cover will remain and the temperatures there will remain 2 – 3° lower.
