Wednesday, August 12, will maintain the hot character of the weather in Bulgaria. A mostly sunny day is expected, and temperatures in the interior will reach between 33° and 38°. The probability of precipitation will be low, with more clouds possible over mountainous areas in the afternoon hours.

Weather in Burgas and the region

In Burgas, the morning temperature will be around 22–23°C, and the daytime temperature – up to 29–30°C. Sunny weather is expected with a very low probability of precipitation – about 5%.

The sea water temperature will be around 26–27°C. A moderate easterly wind will blow at a speed of approximately 5–7 m/s, which will bring some cooling in the afternoon hours. The swell will be 2–3 on the Douglas sea scale.

The preliminary safety assessment for swimming is a yellow flag due to the moderate easterly wind and the potentially more noticeable swell on open beaches. Final signaling is determined by the rescue teams on site.

Sofia and the region

In Sofia, it will be sunny and hot, with a minimum temperature around 17°C and a maximum around 34°C. The probability of precipitation in the city is small – about 10%, but in the afternoon, temporary cumulus clouds are possible over Vitosha and the surrounding high areas.

The wind will be light, mostly from the east-northeast, with a speed around 2–4 m/s. For Sofia, sea water temperature and swimming flags do not apply; when visiting the mountains, it is recommended that tourists monitor for changes in cloud cover in the afternoon.

Eastern and Western Bulgaria

In Eastern Bulgaria, it will be mostly sunny, with temperatures between 30°C and 34°C. Precipitation is unlikely, and the wind will be light to moderate from the east-northeast, although it may temporarily increase in open areas.

In Western Bulgaria, the heat will be more pronounced, with maximum temperatures between 34°C and 38°C. Mostly sunny weather will prevail, but over the mountains in the southwestern part of the country, cumulus clouds and isolated short-term showers are possible. Sea water temperature and swimming flags do not apply to the interior regions.

In the mountains

In the mountains, the morning will be sunny, and cumulus clouds will develop in the afternoon. The probability of a short-term shower or thunderstorm remains low, but it cannot be ruled out in the massifs of Southwestern Bulgaria.

At an altitude of about 1200 meters, the maximum temperature will be approximately 27°C, and at 2000 meters – about 19°C. The wind will be light to moderate from the northeast. Data for sea water and swimming flags do not apply to the mountains.

The Black Sea coast

Along the Black Sea coast, it will be sunny, with maximum temperatures between 28°C and 31°C. The probability of precipitation will be minimal – up to 5%. A moderate northeasterly to easterly wind will blow, which will create more comfortable conditions compared to the interior of the country.

The sea water temperature will be between 26°C and 27°C, and the swell – 2–3 on the Douglas sea scale. The preliminary assessment for swimming is a yellow flag on open beaches and a green flag in potentially more sheltered areas, unless local lifeguards announce otherwise.
